About this pack
Pack 1 teaches students to recognise and construct a complete sentence using the simplest possible structure: a subject (who or what) and an action verb (what they do). Students read decodable, phonics-aligned cards and make a decision about each one: is this a sentence, or is it a fragment?
What this pack teaches
A complete sentence needs two parts:
a subject — who or what
a verb — what they do
If either part is missing, it is a fragment.
Examples from the pack:
a cat naps — complete sentence
jumps — fragment (no subject)
the hen — fragment (no verb)
